Questions I thought you might ask

What's the "styling fee?"

The fee I charge is intended to cover the time, transportation, and labor that it takes for me to provide your service. The fee is 20% of the total cost of your items (before shipping). It's separate from shipping and cleaning.

A lot of stylists/resellers make a profit via jacking up the sticker prices of their inventory. While I understand the thought process they have, I believe this practice is dishonest and contributes to the increasing inaccessibility of secondhand goods for the people who benefit the most from having them available. I feel that my method is more transparent and consumer-friendly.

If you can't afford the fee or you want to talk about a payment plan, please feel free to reach out and I'll be happy to chat with you. I cannot guarantee accommodations at any given time, because I'm just one gal, but I will always do my best.

If you are trans and you're looking for gender-affirming clothing, feel free to let me know either via my contact form or on your interest form. I do not want cost to be a barrier between anyone and their gender expression.

What's your policy on unethical fast fashion brands (like Shein)?

I do not EVER advocate for buying from fast fashion brands. Companies like

Shein and Temu are known for human rights violations, complete disregard for the

environment, low-quality products, and more. They are able to tempt us with low prices and trendy products because they take heinous shortcuts. This situation is a big part of why I want to encourage fashion lovers to look at trends with a more scrutinous eye- if we purchase garments that are only "in style" (and therefore we only wear) for 6 months, we're forced to constantly buy more clothes and throw the out-of-style ones away. It's bad for our credit scores, our mental health, and the environment. Now; of course there lives great innovation and timelessness within the trend cycle, and I'm not advocating for a complete rejection of whatever does happen to be in style. I simply point out that fast fashion companies cash in on our desire to fit in, and we as consumers should do what we can to keep tabs on where our money goes.

That being said: I also believe that once a garment has been purchased and passed onward into the secondhand market, it is better for that garment to be used and loved than it is for it to stay on a rack and end up in a landfill. When we buy secondhand we aren't giving more money to the manufacturers, we're giving to whoever we're shopping from. Plus, due to the overconsumption that these companies enable, a LOT of the garments available on the secondhand market right now are going to fall into this "trendy" category. I also want to point out that there are a lot of popular brands who, though they may not have achieved the same worldwide infamy as Shein, still use unethical, unsustainable practices. It is extremely difficult to avoid for an average consumer.

That's why there IS a possibility you could see some Shein or Forever21 in your package. I

recognize, however, that these garments are known for their low quality, and if you

request that I avoid them, I will happily comply. It's possible (and gratifying)

to be stylish without having any of these labels in your closet.

How long does the process take from submitting my form to receiving my package?

It varies! I have several day jobs, and the amount of time I have to spend on this passion project varies. I will inform you at the start of your service what my projected timeframe is for you, and I will keep you updated if it changes. If you are on a tight schedule, just let me know on your interest form! I'll let you know whether I can realistically make it happen for you at that particular time.

What if I don't like my items?

I send photos of your items before they get shipped to ensure that you know what you're

getting and are happy with your package. You're welcome to switch one item out at that time with no

charge! The best way to help me get as close to possible to your ideal package, so that you love everything

the first time around, is to make sure your interest form is as detailed as possible. Including things like your

measurements, your style inspiration, and your Pinterest boards helps me get to the heart of your style

with less guesswork.

What are the chances I get something
high-end/designer?

I make all of my selections based on aesthetic + your budget. If you have a big enough budget and you let me know that you specifically are looking for vintage/designer pieces, I can make that happen for you! Otherwise, your chances are exactly the same as any other enthusiastic thrifter in NYC.

Can I ask for only one piece?

Yes! If you want only one item, just fill out the parts of the order form that you feel are necessary for me to understand what you're looking for.

If you have something VERY specific you want (you tore your favorite shirt and need to replace it, you saw a photo of a garment you love but you can't find it secondhand, etc.), I have been able to do some successful sleuthing in the past. I am happy to help and will certainly give it my best shot, but in these situations there may be a much longer waiting period- or I may not be successful.

What makes you different from trendy Depop upsellers?

Goose Aesthetics is a curated styling service- it is NOT about making a profit via

re-selling used clothing. As a rule, I never buy anything for the specific purpose of putting it up

for sale on the Goose store; anything you see available for individual purchase is either a piece from my (or one of my loved one's) personal closet(s), or a piece that a previous client swapped out. I also make a point to keep my prices as low as possible. You will never see a 90's college t-shirt listed as "AUTHENTIC Vintage UNIQUE Streetwear: ONLY $80" here, and if you do, I invite you to call me out on my bullshit because I have clearly lost my sense of reality. I care about connecting

people with cool clothes! I do not intend to get rich doing so!
